Founded in 2020, the Ocean Conservancy Club is a student-led organization that is dedicated towards preserving the ocean and its marine wildlife. Today, our oceans are suffering from pollution, ocean acidification, unsustainable fishing, and the overuse of carbon emissions. Approximately 8 million metric tons of plastic enters the ocean each year and over 100,000 marine animals die. Statistics tell us that by 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fishes. We need to take a stand and protect the ocean from this harmful and unfortunate causes. What can we do? This website was created in hopes of encouraging viewers like you to help the ocean through limiting your plastic use and donating, if possible, to organizations that specifically go into the ocean and take out the plastic.
